In [17] a fuzzy traffic controller has been designed that incorporates call admission control and congestion control simultaneously. The simulation results show that their proposed fuzzy admission controller and also the fuzzy congestion controller have better performance than the conventional non-fuzzy mechanisms. In [18], by using the fuzzy expert systems, a fuzzy traffic controller has been designed which has better selectivity and dynamic behavior than the traditional UPC mechanisms. In [19], Ndousse propose a fuzzy leaky bucket which is based on conventional virtual leaky bucket. By using the QoS feedback obtained from the network, the proposed fuzzy controller can reduce the rate of dropping cells but it does not show any performance improvement in the inherence efficiency of the leaky bucket mechanism. In [20], Douligeris and Develekos propose a fuzzy rule-base system which is transparent to the traffic source. In [21], a novel Fuzzy Backward Congestion Notification (FBCN) has been proposed which has high ability for congestion control in ATM networks.

Jiang et al. (2020) tried to build disk failure prediction from an economic cost perspective, aiming to minimise the disk failure recovery cost. For mapping sample-level prediction results to disk-level prediction results, they developed a leaky-bucket algorithm, by adjusting the bucketsize to further make the failure recovery cost reduced.
