The ignition system is the core component of the fuze, which is mainly divided into two types: mechanical activation and electrical activation. The mechanical activation mainly uses a steel needle to prick the percussion cap to generate flame and then detonate gunpowder. This kind of activation device has a complex structure and large volume, which cannot meet the requirements of small caliber projectile [7]. The electrical activation usually consisted of the battery or energy storage capacitor and the electric igniter. Its working principle works as follows: the bridge wire resistance in the electric igniter ignites the gunpowder at an appropriate time under the stimulation of the power supply. The electric activation device usually needs additional power supply and control device. The power supply used in the ignition system needs to meet the requirements of high energy density, small size, quick response, and long-time storage. The traditional chemical battery has some limitations due to the power supply of small caliber ammunition because of its long activation time and short storage time. The energy storage capacitor is easy to be disturbed by complex environment so it cannot meet the requirements of the small caliber ammunition power supply. Therefore, the traditional electric activation device also faces the problems of complex structure and large volume when applied to small caliber projectile.
