Stubble burning at large-scale results into problems for humans, agriculture, and air poisonous due to the emission of harmful gases. The 34% and 22% from rice and wheat fields are left in the field itself. Instead of ablaze of residues, it can be used in diversified ways like roofing in rural areas, biofuel, cattle feed, mushroom, and industrial production, etc., or by employing mechanization for in situ crop residue management as a surface mulch. With the looming complication of burning residues, there is a need to develop law and policy measures by the government to address pollution from agriculture. To ensure effective execution, proactive measures should be monitored at regular intervals to stop the burning of stubble.

The following principles have to be observed to maintain farmland in good agricultural and environmental condition (ARMIR, 2018): Buffer zones are established along water courses to limit the adverse consequences of land fertilization.Water licensing procedures are strictly observed.Groundwater is protected against contamination by dangerous substances.Minimum soil cover – at least 30% of arable land in areas with a high risk of water erosion is left under ground cover between 1 November and 15 February.Arable land is managed in a manner that at least minimally preserves the local conditions to limit erosion (arable land on slopes steeper than 20° can be used to cultivate perennial plants with biomass or litter cover in inter-rows).The organic matter content of soil is kept at an appropriate level with the appropriate practices, and stubble burning has been legally prohibited. The local landscape is preserved (hedges and trees are not trimmed during the bird nesting and breeding season).
