Gas leak: With the help of gas detectors, the sensor gets an alert for the slightest gas leaks. In addition, it will shut down the related valve. Thus, it will prevent any trouble that would occur due to such gas leakage.

Gas leaks are a serious threat to human safety and equipment reliability in the natural gas industry, in chemical factories, and in commercial or domestic environments. Thus, gas detection is very important for safety reasons in these settings [1–4]. Therefore, over the last few decades, considerable effort has been invested in designing gas leak detection techniques [5]. Portable gas detectors for gas leaks are clearly important in a number of these applications [6]. Optical gas detection that is based on the infrared (IR) absorption spectrum, which currently occupies an important place in the gas detection technical field, is superior to traditional detection methods (for example, chemical reactions) in terms of accuracy, speed, and even security. It commonly involves the use of IR optical detection instruments that are simple, durable, and reliable [7]. Gas molecules absorb IR radiation so their presence can be detected by using IR spectroscopy. IR-thermography, which is based on IR technology, has a variety of applications. Furthermore, the selectivity of IR-thermography is high, and its range of sensitivity is large (from a few parts per million to 100% concentration). However, there are still some disadvantages of the gas detection of single IR-thermography, such as the real direction of the leakage gas, the speed or the size of the gas cloud, which is also an important parameter such that harmful gas cannot be obtained from only one IR-thermograph. In this case, 3D video gas detection and tracking using a stereo gas imaging system (3D gas imaging system), which is based on the technology of IR-thermography, was studied to solve these problems.
