Some derivatives of 1H-1,2,4-triazole are also found to be useful as strong anti-estrogens. For example, anastrozole [16] is used to treat breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause, by lowering the estrogen levels to help shrink tumors and slow their growth.

The 1,2,4-triazoles are valuable heterocyclics with many biological and pharmacological features, from anti-tuberculosis to plant growth regulation [12–29] and are used in development of new anti-cancer drugs. Triazoles are drugs called letrozole, anastrozole and vorozole used against breast cancer [30].
