The LVADs provide tremendous benefits for patients by reducing the symptoms of HF; however, 17%–20% of LVAD patients have a stroke within the first year of implantation37 and 25% have a major bleeding event requiring hospitalization.38–40 Thrombus development is often a consequence of altered blood flow dynamics, which can produce areas of flow stasis or turbulence that promote coagulation.3,41 The long-term success of LVADs depends on optimizing the host response to the device, which changes with time and is patient-specific.42,43 Implantation of the LVAD creates one of the most thrombogenic situations in cardiovascular medicine owing to the simultaneous combination of (1) a proinflammatory state after the surgery, (2) the presence of the device, and (3) alterations of the normal flow.

Thrombus formation in the blood vessels causes thrombotic diseases like myocardial or cerebral infarction. Different agents used for dissolving the clots in blood vessels can have some serious and lethal consequences. Since ancient times, several herbal products have been used for the treatment of several diseases, however in some cases, toxicity has been observed (72). Hence different agents like nanoparticles could be one of the potential sources for the treatment of thrombotic diseases.
