In conclusion, lipofibromatosis is a relatively new entity, considered in the differential diagnosis of soft tissue tumors in children, is typically a painless, slowly growing mass involving the extremities, cured with complete resection but tends to recur if removal is incomplete. Atypical forms have been described and their highly infiltrative capability can lead to the involvement of critical structures of the central nervous system.

Lipofibromatosis is a benign pediatric soft tissue tumor which should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a fibrofatty tumor in children, particularly when arising in the distal extremities. Complete surgical excision is the treatment of choice and incomplete removal may result in recurrence.
