Steam reforming process was conducted in a 45 cm height × 18 cm diameter fluidized bed with a bed height of 20 cm and a thickness of 0.75 cm. Relevant tests were conducted at temperatures ranging from 500°C to 600°C and at a pressure of 1 atm. Methanol reforming system is composed of four main parts namely methanol reformer, water-gas shift reactors (HTS and LTS), hot gas filtering unit, and a CO oxidation reactor (PROX). To avoid heat loss, the system is well isolated. The temperature of three main parts is controlled and recorded by five thermocouples connected to a temperature monitoring system. Figure 2 shows a schematic view of reformer unit.
