Yen et al. (2016) performed a comparative study between classical solvent extraction with D2EHPA and a supported liquid membrane with strip dispersion (SLM-SD) system. The experimental results obtained from the operation of the SLM-SD were slightly better than for SX; however the process needs further optimization to improve the selectivity against Fe. In the work of de la Torre, Vargas, Ron, and Gámez (2018), after indium solvent extraction and stripping, the obtained acid solution was evaporated until indium precipitation, reaching a recovery of 95%; the obtained indium sulfate was then calcined at 700 °C for 2 h to obtain the corresponding oxide.
