Bromine as well as chlorine is an element belonging to halogen. Therefore, its chemical and electrochemical behaviours are similar to those of chlorine. Free bromine can be produced by anodic oxidation of bromide ion (Br−) [10] and is hydrolysed into hypobromous acid (HOBr), which dissociates into hypobromite ion (BrO−) [11,12].
