With this background, examples of pharmaceuticals containing iodine atoms, the largest of stable halogens, are as follows: First, typical drugs include the diagnostic drug Iopamidol and Iohexol, X-ray contrast agent. They have 5-amino-2,4,6-triodo-isophthalic acid (ATIPA) as their common mother framework, are chemically stable, and are not subject to biological metabolism. Various hydrophilic substituents are introduced to the side chain and drugs with increased water solubility are used as injections. Amiodarone is an anti-arrhythmic agent used in the treatment of refractory and fatal arrhythmia such as ventricular fibrillation and tachycardia which cannot be treated as other arrhythmia. However, it is accompanied by side effects such as interstitial pneumonia, thyroid function disorder, and cornea deposit formation, and is a difficult-to-use drug.

While glass tubes preserve the vacuum (negative pressure) better than plastic tubes [61], plastic tubes are lighter and less breakable [62]. Moreover, polyester resins, based on ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid plus ethylene glycol and isophthalic acid (>20 mol %), allow the production, by injection molding, of plastic tubes with high vacuum barrier properties [63]. The replacement of glass tubes by plastic tubes has minimized accidents due to broken glass, improved workplace safety and reduced safety concerns for health care professionals [64]. No differences in test interpretation were observed after switching from glass to plastic tubes for common clinical chemistry [65], therapeutic drug monitoring [66], coagulation [67], hormone, and tumor marker [68] tests.
In vitro anticancer potentiality and molecular modelling study of novel amino acid derivatives based on N1,N3-bis-(1-hydrazinyl-1-oxopropan-2-yl) isophthalamide

In our previous studies of amino acid and peptide derivatives, gave a good antimicrobial properties, anti-inflammatory, analgesic agents44–48 and anticancer activities26–28,49, as well as, pyrazoloderivatives as anticancer agents50. Thus, our study aims to conjugate l-alanine and isophthalic acid. The novel candidates 3–16 were synthesized based on N1,N3-bis-(1-hydrazinyl-1-oxopropan-2-yl) isophthalamide (4) which may be expected to possess promising anticancer properties. Accordingly, a rational design, synthesis and structural characterization of N1, N3-bis (1-hydrazinyl-1-oxopropan-2-yl) isophthalamide, were synthesized via synthetic peptide coupling methods, (in solution). The compound N1,N3-bis-(1-hydrazinyl-1-oxopropan-2-yl) isophthalamide (4) was synthesized by the reaction of isophthalic acid (1) with thionyl chloride, to give isophthaloyl chloride (2), while compound 2 was then coupled with a free l-Alanine methyl ester to give dimethyl 2,2'-(isophthaloyl-bis-(azanediyl)) dipropionate (3). IR of compound 3 showed absorption bands at 3330 cm−1 due to NH in addition to absorptions of carbonyl groups at 1744 cm−1 (C = O ester). 1H-NMR of ester 3 revealed two signals in the region δ 3.7–3.5 of 2CH3(CH3 ester) in addition to the D2O exchangeable signals of amidic. Hydrazinolysis of dimethyl 2,2'-(isophthaloyl-bis-(azanediyl)) dipropionate (3) with hydrazine hydrate led to the corresponding hydrazide 4 in 75% yield (Scheme 1). 1H-NMR of compound 4 exhibited the D2O exchangeable signals at δ 9.70 and 8.74 in addition to the signals of 2NH2 at δ 4.24. The mass spectrum of hydrazide 4 showed a characteristic peaks equal to its molecular weight and base beak at m/z = 336 and42, respectively.
