An air intake system is one of the most critical components in an automotive engine. There are three critical embedded sensors in the system for measuring the amount of air and enabling continuous airflow into the engine: Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. The MAF sensor determines the mass flow rate entering the engine. In the air intake system, the throttle body controls the amount of air flow into the engine. A TPS monitors the throttle plate position. An MAP sensor provides the intake manifold pressure information to the electronic control unit.
