Parallel-strand lumber

Parallel-strand lumber is a type of engineered wood product made by gluing together wood strands and extruding them from a rotary press as a continuous piece. It can be cut to any length up to about 20m. Parallel Strand Lumber (PSL). PSL is prepared from veneers clipped into long strands laid in parallel formation and bonded together with an adhesive. The length-to-thickness ratio of the strands in PSL is about 300. PSL is used mainly for beam and header beam applications (APA 2016).
