A flow process chart is a chart that represents activities, equipment, or flow of material in order to identify problem areas faced in the manufacturing process. This can be compared with an improved chart to improve productivity in manufacturing SMEs. This process chart uses chart symbols such as operation, inspection, transport, delay, and storage. The aim of comparing an improved chart with an existing chart is that management can improve processes by eliminating waste, rearranging and combining (synthesizing) work, and simplifying work activities in their businesses (Wajanawichakon & Srimitee,2012:957).

To know the different products, components, tools, processes, activities, controls, etc. the students receive a book that contains a list of parts needed to manufacture different products, the Operation Process Datasheet (Figure 9), and the quality controls required (Figure 10) by customers. The students must develop the Flowchart and Flow Process Chart diagrams.
