Soil root interaction can be explained by various macro models or soil–vegetation interaction model. Various tests like direct shear test, double direct shear test, consolidated undrained tests have been adopted to determine the additive cohesion. But to determine the accurate impact on shear strength by roots, consolidated drained (CD) triaxial tests need to be done. Besides, the effect of root length and root content in soils for geotechnical aspects needs to be studied though the development of root structure is mostly due to genetic characters and partially due to environmental factors.
