In this type of image format, there are 65,536 types of different colors, and hence, it is termed as high color format. The 16-bit format is divided into three primary colors of red, green, and blue, and the distribution of the RGB can be 5 bits for red, 6 bits for green color, and 5 bits for representing the blue color. Generally, the distribution is like the above stated, and one extra bit is allocated to the green color, as it is soothing to the eyes among the three colors.

Second, the recorded vibration intensity is identified both in the time and frequency domain, through spectrograms, i.e. a 2D or 3D color plot of short fast Fourier transforms (FFT) in time. Since groundborne vibration-related frequencies are under high energy content and vary in time, are easily identified through a spectrogram, superposed with the velocity-time history plot, as shown in Figure 7a. Here, high color intensity dictates high power levels. Color profile distinct bands are quite clear during the passing instants, at which the vibrations from the passing trains occur. Though in a vibration signal, many different frequency components coexist, i.e. natural frequencies, mechanical and electrical noise, the latter do not vary in time, are visualized as color bands of high intensity, constant in time, thus can be easily identified and removed.
The Language of Lighting: Applying Semiotics in the Evaluation of Lighting Design

The spectrum will be discussed with regard to color temperature and colored light. Low color temperature reveals a similarity to fire or candlelight, whereas high color temperatures show a close link to daylight. The former can be found in restaurants and hotels for a cozy atmosphere, whereas the cooler light color is more often used as additional lighting to daylight in offices (Krautter and Schielke 2009). When color was taken into account, studies showed that cool material colors such as blue or green were associated with a tranquil effect in contrast to warm material colors like orange and red, which appeared stimulating (Babin et al. 2003; Bellizzi and Hite 1992; Crowley 1993). Associations for colored lighting were linked to natural light with the blue cast of twilight or the orange shift of the sunset and thereby colored light would act as a signifier for the respective atmospheres (Major et al. 2005). The meaning of colors can also be closely connected to local traditions, like the reflectance of daylight on gold or red surfaces in Japan (Plummer 1995). The use of cross-cultural color schemes needs to be carefully evaluated, because both similarities and dissimilarities occur for color meaning associations between different countries (Kress and Van Leeuwen 2002; Madden et al. 2000).

Figure 8 shows a sample of input thermal images from the dataset directory. These images with a dimension of either 1440 × 1080 or 640 × 480 are collected by the high-resolution FLIR brand thermal camera. In the acquired images, the deer are in different positions, which makes their detection more complicated. The quality or clarity of the image is still low because of the nocturnal period. The thermal images shown in Figure 8 are captured in the nighttime, specifically from 7 pm to 10 pm near the highway roads. These thermal images have high color density due to the high-temperature property.
