While testing any design in all fields of engineering, data acquisition is an important step. This is salient to comprehend the method and limitations of measurements to create experiments and controls that help to analyze the phenomena of the world (Gomathi and Krishnan, 2020). Data acquisition is a process, allows for collecting signals from measurement sources and digitalizing the signals for storage, analysis and showcasing on another system. It is a process of moving inadvertently accurate data from a sensor or transducer directly into the system. A sensor is a device that acknowledges a physical change, and a transducer is a device that converts energy from one form to another. Data acquisition plays a significant role in image processing (Krishnan, Sivakumar, and Manohar, 2018).

Data acquisition system consists of sensors, data acquisition unit, control PC and control software. Sensors: including velocity sensors, pressure cells, differential pressure sensors and a flow meter. Velocity sensors are ADV (Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter) from Nortek AS and 2D LDV (Laser Doppler Velocimeter) from Dantec Measurement System. Differential pressure cells are from Rosemount Controls and Fuji Electric. MagMaster Electromagnetic Flow meter from ABB Kent-Taylor was used to get the flow rate at the inlet tube. Pressure cells are from IMT Industrie-MessTechnik GMBH.Data acquisition unit: HP Data Acquisition / Switch Unit, Data Acquisition Board from National Instrument, and connection board from Flow Design Bureau (FDB)Control PC: control PC for LDV sub-system, control PC for ADV unit, control PC for other data collectionControl software: BS A Flow V1.4 from Dantec Measurement System, ADVlab V2.7 from Nortek, and LabView V5.0 from National Instrument.
Sensor Platforms and Wireless Networks

An important concept to note is that there is a difference between the time and frequency that data are sampled (sampling frequency) vs the time which data are transmitted (transmit frequency). For example, a particular sensor could be sampled 100 times per second (100 Hz), but data aggregated in the sensor device would only be transmitted once per hour. Or, in the case of a logging paradigm, data could be sampled over a period of weeks, and the devices manually collected and brought back to a lab for download of data (hence a transmit/download time on the order of weeks). When the sampling time is very close to the transmission time and individual samples transmitted as acquired, the user terms the data acquisition to be “real time.” When the sampling time is similar to the transmission time, the user terms the data acquisition to be “near real time,” although this is largely a semantic difference along a spectrum of data acquisition.
Distinguished identification of halal and non-halal animal-fat gelatin by using microwave dielectric sensing system

Data acquisition is a process of sampling the signals that measure the sample and converting the results into a digital numeric value that can be manipulated by a computer. In this project, the P-series Network Analyzer will produce the analog waveform of the measurement. After that, the data-acquisition system in the software will convert analog waveforms into a digital value for further processing. The data obtained from the PNA is the reflection coefficient (S11) within the frequency range that has set earlier, which is from 0.2 GHz to 20 GHz. After reflection (S11) and dielectric measurement, the numeric value of the result displayed in the screen can be saved in .prn format.
