The technological evolution in implementing wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) should be considered as an aspect of fundamental importance within sanitary engineering. Nevertheless, by the growing predictions regarding the depletion of phosphorus natural resources in the environment and the considerable negative consequences to quality of life, there are more and more demands arising from the need to manage the emissions by reducing consumption and increasing reuse and recycling potential.
