A variety of waste plastic materials can be recycled to create 3D printer filament, including water or soft drink bottles, milk jugs, soap or detergent bottles, and shampoo bottles. These containers are made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Plastic containers are made from petroleum, a nonrenewable resource. Recycling plastic containers saves oil as well as landfill space. Every kilogram of material kept out of the landfill helps not only to extend the life of landfills but also to create more sustainable communities. A study on the recycling of postconsumer HDPE for 3D printing filament found that distributed recycling (shredding and producing filament locally with a desktop-type filament extruder) uses less embodied energy than centralized recycling does (Kreiger et al., 2014).

The soil sample was collected from the rhizosphere of ground nut (Arachis hypogaea) plant at Aaviyur, Virudhunagar district, Tamilnadu, India. The soil was placed in a clean plastic container and transferred to lab. One gram of soil was added to 9 mL of sterilized distilled water and incubated at 37°C for 1 h on a rotary shaker. The incubated sample was serially diluted in the range of 10−1 to 10−7 using saline. 100 µL of each dilution were plated using spread plate technique in screening media (Aniline blue agar/YP medium) and incubated at 37°C for 1 day. Screening media (g/L) consists of 20 g glucose, 5 g peptone, 5 g yeast extract, 0.05 g aniline blue dye, 20 g agar, pH 7.[13] After incubation, dark blue stained colonies were selected from each plate based on different colony morphology. The selected isolates were purified by repeated quadrant streaking in selective agar media.
A green procurement methodology based on Kraljic Matrix for supplier`s evaluation and selection: a case study from the chemical sector

An analysis was realised for a supply product of the company named Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container (FIBC), a flexible plastic container used for the product delivery to the customers. First, the buyer has to assign the weight of the criteria related to the GSC for each quadrant of the matrix: routine, bottlenecks, leverage, strategic (Table 4). These weights depend on the procurement strategy of the company. Then, the same process is realised for the criteria related to quality. For the evaluated supplier, each claim has a negative value. The weights for the quality axis are shown in Table 5 (Step 4).
The fabrication of exfoliated graphite sheet-based air cathodes and gel electrolyte for metal-air batteries
Published in Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2019
Alkaline gel electrolyte was obtained by preparing a mixture of 6 M NaOH solution containing ZnO additive (Liu et al. 2016) as a corrosion inhibitor and water retainer. NaOH (3.6 g) was dissolved in 15 ml of distilled water, and 0.36 g of ZnO (10% of NaOH weight) was then added. The white colored solution was mixed with a magnetic stirrer or glass rod stirrer for about one hour. At the end of this stirring, the solution becomes transparent. The solution is transferred to a glass or plastic container that does not react with NaOH. For the gel agent, 0.8 g of water-retaining grains were added.
