The importance of efficient utilization of conventional and renewable energy sources is growing day by day as energy demand increases. When the produced energy is greater than the consumed energy, the excess energy needs to be stored effectively with a suitable energy storage system. One of the energy storage systems are the batteries such as lithium ions battery, zinc-cerium battery, vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB), etc. The VRFB is one promising candidate for these batteries because of the various wide advantages such as long cycle life, efficiency and unlimited energy capacity, etc. (Cao et al. 2018; Cheng et al. 2020, 2021; Daugherty et al. 2020). The VRFB was discovered by Maria Skylass-Kazacos and her team (Gencten and Sahin 2020).
