Cramp-fasciculation syndrome is a rare hypersensitivity-hyperexcitability disorder with fasciculation, muscle cramps, stiffness, paresthesia, fatigue, anxiety, and pain (Tahmoush et al. 1991). Other symptoms include asthma, migraine, gastroesophageal reflux, tremor, and cold hyperalgesia (Tahmoush et al. 1991). A specific variant of TRPA1 has been associated with cramp-fasciculation syndrome by whole-exome sequencing and cosegregation analyses (Nirenberg et al. 2017). Patients are improved following carbamazepine therapy.
