The Procedures should enumerate how the policy is to be implemented, including a detailed explanation of how the function should be performed. For example, a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) policy should include a step-by-step procedure for conducting a JSA, the format to follow (with examples of well-written JSAs), how they should be reviewed, when they should be approved, where they should be inventoried, and how they should be used/revised. Remember, by this time the policy should have already addressed by JSAs are needed, the objectives, and who is responsible for each step. The Procedures section clearly explains to everyone “how to do” what they’re responsible for. Consequently, if it is complete and comprehensive the procedures section is usually much larger than all other sections combined.

Job safety analysis (JSA) is a technique of accident prevention method that can identify the potential hazards associated with the job and give control measures to minimize the hazards. In this job safety study that was carried out, each potential possibility of the industrial hazards associated with the manufacturing work was defined under different sections and effective control measures were recommended by preparing JSA worksheet. This study clearly shows that the incidents were mostly due to human errors and the accidents can be considerably avoided with efficient safety management with adequate training and education for the employees (Singh and Banodha, 2019).

Job safety analysis (JSA) is part of many existing accident prevention programs. In general, JSA breaks a job into basic steps and identifies the hazards associated with each step. The JSA also prescribes controls for each hazard. A JSA is a chart listing these steps, hazards, and controls. Review the JSA during the investigation, if a JSA has been conducted for the job involved in an accident. Perform a JSA if one is not available. Perform a JSA as part of the investigation to determine the events and conditions that led to the accident.

The intervention programs were designed to encourage the TPB constructs. The programs aimed to target the TPB antecedent variables of behaviors, including attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control, to increase the perception and confidence of workers in executing the behavior. These activities also tended to involve workers’ participation. The intervention programs during the 3-month period in the sawmill process, timber arranging, timber vanishing and timber drying were as follows: Job safety analysis (JSA) and establishment of the safety standard operation procedure (SSOP): this activity was completed via a group discussion meeting with the participants by breaking down the working process into steps. The workers then identified inherent hazards and recalled past accidents and near misses. This tended to promote workers’ awareness and risk perception of hazards at each working step. The participants were asked to suggest an idea of how to conduct each step safely. An SSOP document was then set up. It should be noted that the SSOP was not officially documented or communicated in the factory.Promotional campaign: this included daily safety talks by workers and supervisors regarding the SSOP and safety reminders before starting work. Safety signage and notifications at the center boards in the workplace to reinforce workers’ awareness were also provided.
