The Glencore Raglan Mine is located in Nunavik, Quebec, along Hudson Bay in the arctic. The mine is not connected to a grid and historically was powered by onsite diesel generation, which represented 18–23% of the annual operating costs. In 2009, Raglan Mine initiated a process to explore opportunities to reduce energy-related costs and reduce emissions associated with energy generation.
