Rotate the individual sprocket.Click Mate.Select the hole in the sprocket and the outer surface of the shaft and apply Concentric mate.Select the top of the sprocket and the top surface of the shaft and apply Coincident (see Figure 22.45). Repeat for the second sprocket/shaft pair. (See Figure 22.46 for subassembly.)
Belt and Chain Drives
Published in Don Renner, Hands-On Water/Wastewater Equipment Maintenance, 2017
10.62 Chain sprockets are made in standard sizes based on the pitch of the chain with which they will be used. The pitch of the chain and the number of teeth determines the sprocket pitch diameter. The materials used in the manufacture of sprockets range from cast metals, molded nonmetallic materials, and fabricated steel plate. As a rule, the nonmetallic sprockets are used with nonmetallic chains.

Routine maintenance involves cleaning exposed chains, lubricating or replenishing lubricants, checking the operation of tensioning devices and checking the teeth on the sprockets for wear. The chain length should also be checked periodically. A 2% increase in length due to wear in the rollers indicates that replacement is due.

In order to increase accuracy and ensure the reliability of assessment, this study utilized mathematical programming to derive the LCL of . We further employ the combination corresponding to the LCL of to serve as a standard for the assessment of process quality level for each supplier. Finally, this study constructed a PCAC with accuracy index as the horizontal axis and prevision index as the vertical axis. Based on the PCAC, the buying company can not only simultaneously assess the process quality levels of multiple suppliers, but also provide recommendations for improvement for suppliers exhibiting poor quality levels. Two real-world case studies involving selection of sprocket suppliers and gear suppliers are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method.

Figure 12 displays the block diagram for powertrain integrated multibody model. The input to the integrated model includes, throttle, braking, road profile and terrain characteristics. A three-dimensional map using interpolation of measured data of engine torque, throttle input and engine speed is used as a engine model. A torque converter model based on impeller and turbine speed is used to determine the torque input to the gear box. The gear box is modelled as an automatic transmission whose shifting logic is based on throttle input and vehicle velocity. A fixed gear ratio representing the final drive is multiplied with torque output of the gear box to arrive at the sprocket torque. This sprocket torque will be the input to the multibody tracked vehicle with imaginary wheels which results in longitudinal motion of the vehicle. The vehicle speed from the model is used in determining the load torque acting on the power train. Thus integrating a power train model to the vehicle model forms a closed loop system and helps in analysing power train induced transients as a result of engine loading and gear shifts.

More specifically, the hoisting drum was driven by the hoisting motor through the belt pulley, and the rotation of the drum promoted the winding of the hoisting wire rope to achieve the hoisting action. Similarly, the crowding roller was driven by the crowding motor through the sprocket wheel. The fuzzy PID control method was applied to achieve the movement accuracy of both motors by adjusting the rotary speed through VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), based on the dynamic data comparison between the pre-set speed and the speed acquired from the rotary encoder assembled in front of the driving unit. The digging trajectory could be generated directly based on the data from displacement encoder for the length of and that from the rotary encoder assembled to record the rotary angle of .
