Critical submergence for side circular intake in an open channel flow

Since the present study used both intakes with and without bellmouth, the discharge coefficient of intake is analysed for a better correlation of experimental data. Intake with bellmouth transition helps in the reduction of entry loss of head when compared to the normal one preventing the flow separations. The bellmouth transitions help in the reduction of critical submergence compared to those without transition when both are carrying the same discharge.
