In this paper, a novel compact microstrip TBSLOR BPF is proposed and designed based on the open-loop resonator with open stub. Open stub is used to tune the triple passband at 2.85, 5.9 and 8.15 GHz having fractional BW of 5.26%, 5.81% and 5.88%, respectively. Proposed filter gives reduced insertion losses 0.47, 0.77 and 1.41 dB at 2.85, 5.9 and 8.15 GHz. Compared results in Table 2 show that insertion losses are minimum in proposed work with respect to some recently reported designs. Proposed triple-band filter design is useful for airport surveillance radar system, weather monitoring system, ITS and satellite communication.
