Eventual consistency

Eventual consistency refers to a data management approach where updates are propagated asynchronously across nodes in a cluster, resulting in a certain level of resiliency and a small degree of latency. Eventual consistency means that the data is replicated across nodes, resulting in a certain level of resiliency and a small degree of latency. The system becomes consistent over time, given that the system does not receive input during that time. However, such slow replication of data to make the system eventually consistent may not be acceptable for mission-critical, real-time systems where the database must be updated as soon as the transaction is committed. For example, on a financial application an updated balance should be available immediately.

Conventional DBMS is oriented to ACID requirements for transaction system: atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability, whereas NoSQL involves a set of BASE features instead of ACID ones. basic availability: it is guaranteed that each request is completed (successfully or unsuccessfully).soft state: state of a system may alter as time passes, even with no entering new data, to make data consistent.eventual consistency: data may be inconsistent sometimes; however, they become consistent in a while.
