An effective health index calculation of 10 kV distribution transformer using fuzzy set theory and nonlinear fuzzy AHP
Published in Rodolfo Dufo-López, Jaroslaw Krzywanski, Jai Singh, Emerging Developments in the Power and Energy Industry, 2019
Many 10 kV distribution transformers are distributed in different parts of the city, and its cost is relatively low. In operation and maintenance, general recoverable faults may be scrapped for some reason. According to the investigation, 10 kV distribution transformer generally has a running life of 10-15 years, and when there are defects, it will be scrapped directly. This phenomenon is more common in actual substations. The way of disposal has caused great economic losses invisibly.

The purpose of the distribution transformer is to reduce the primary voltage to a level where it can be utilized by the customer. Three-phase commercial distribution transformers range in size anywhere from about 75 kVA to over 2000 kVA. Single-phase transformers range in size from about 10 kVA to about 300 kVA with units in the 25 and 37.5 kVA size being the most popular for residential areas.

To gather the practical PQ disturbance data, a long monitoring period is required at the several locations of a power system network with unpredictability in the occurrence of real-time PQ disturbances [5]. Therefore, a simulation scheme of a three-phase power network has been formulated in Matlab environment as shown in Figure 2 [8]. This network comprises the basic components of the electrical supply system i.e. generation, transmission, and distribution network. The generated electrical power at a voltage of 33 kV (Location I) has been firstly stepped down to 11 kV in a substation. This voltage level at location II is utilized for the distribution of electrical power to heavy industries and factories. With 11 kV feeder lines, electrical power is further distributed from substation to distribution substation. The electrical power from the next stepdown of the voltage level (via distribution transformer) in distribution substation, is supplied to domestic as well as commercial consumers.
