XRD was applied to explore the compositions of the products in a previous research[31] and the XRD patterns is shown in Figure 7. From the XRD result, we can conclude that the compositions of the green product are paratacamite, atacamite, and nantokite. Therefore, the conductivity of the copper anode decreased because the high electrical resistivity of the green product (paratacamite, atacamite, and nantokite) coverage on the copper anode surface.

According to X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of collecting rock samples, the minerals predominantly were detected in copper-bearing units in URF (Table 2). The XRD analysis indicated that paratacamite, atacamite, covellite and chalcocite were identified as major copper minerals and Powellite is the major molybdenum mineral in URF sandstone.
