Some sulfides, especially organic sulfide exists in fossil fuels, such as carbon disulfide (CS2), carbonyl sulfide (COS), mercaptan (R-SH), thioether (R-O-R') and thiophene etc.[13] The organic sulfides not only have strong toxic and corrosive and have the serious effect on the processing and utilization of fossil fuels but also have a serious corrosion for the pipelines and equipment and poisonousness for the catalysts during the catalytic conversion of alkanes. Therefore, how to minimize the organic sulfide pollution in fossil fuels has become an urgent problem. It has great potential to construct heterojunction photocatalysts for photocatalytic removal of organic sulfides.
