Hexanol is colourless alcohol and comprises of six carbon atoms with the molecular formula of C6H13OH. Hexanol is one of the 8 isomers of the amyl alcohol, which forms the straight chain (Pandian et al. 2018). Hexanol is prepared from fossil fuels by means of fractional distillation. In this work, n-hexanol of 98.4% purity is procured from Thermo-Fisher chemicals. Properties of Hexanol is shown in Table 2. Hexanol is blended to biodiesel at 10 and, 20 by volume. Various properties of mahua oil bio-diesel and its blends with hexanol are estimated according to standards of ASTM methods of testing and all properties are shown in Table 1. The blends preparation is carried out by changing the proportion of hexanol to mahua oil bio-diesel.
