L. iners is usually the first lactobacillus that appears after treating bacterial vaginosis with metronidazole, and it is associated with bacterial vaginitis.[25] Thus, combating L. iners while retaining protective vaginal lactobacilli is of great significance for maintaining vaginal health. Therefore, L. iners was used as an indicator strain to investigate the antibacterial activity of L. gasseri H87 after freeze-drying and storage.
