Ultrasound is especially useful in the shoulder for the high incidence of rotator cuff disorders. The four rotator cuff muscles are the subscapularis muscle at the anterior aspect of the shoulder, the supraspinatus at its superior aspect and the infraspinatus and teres minor, which are situated at the posterior aspect.

Subscapularis muscle tendon is repaired using mason allen technique with non-absorbable sutures once prosthesis is placed. Pendulum exercises started from 2 to 3 weeks of surgery followed by active assisted exercises from 4 to 6 weeks. The final phase of muscle strengthening using theraband is started at 10–12 weeks after surgery.
