During refractive surgery, part of the stromal layer of the cornea is removed, changing the shape and the refractive state of the cornea. The variation of corneal shape is mainly represented by the displacement, and the alteration of refractive state can be measured by the induced wavefront aberrations. In other words, the displacement can be converted into induced wavefront aberrations. The ocular aberrations also can provide a complete description of the quality of the eye's retina (Kim 2019).
