Mesoporous bioactive glass (MBG) is composed of silicon, sodium, calcium, and phosphorus oxides. Its ingredients are bionic that produce hydroxyl calcium phosphate after the combination reaction. This ingredient is a component of human and animal bones, and has good biological activity. Therefore, MBG has a promising application in tissue engineering scaffolds, orthopedics, dentistry, and drug carriers [84]. Xu et al. [10] used 30 mg/ml INH and RFP dual-drug loading, explored the cytocompatibility and cytotoxicity, and found that the material had good cytocompatibility and low biotoxicity. The doping of MBG and hydrogel increased the compressive strength of the material. Zhu et al. [40] loaded INH and RFP onto PHBHHx and doped it with MBG, and the compressive strength reached 3.15 ± 0.69 MPa. MBG can also load NIV and provide a slow-release time. Hlaka et al. [85] loaded minor groove binders through MBG, and the drug was still detected on day 12. These results indicate that MBG, as a drug carrier, has sustained release and mechanical properties.
