PBS is biodegradable aliphatic polyesters which is one of the members of biodegradable polymers family. In order to improve the properties number of copolymerization stages are made according to Darwin et al. [37]; Jin et al. (2000, 2001). Phenyl units are introduced into the side chain of PBS, which leads to the better biodegradability of the copolyesters. Jung et al. (1999) successfully synthesized new PBS copolyesters containing alicyclic 1; 4-cyclohexanedimethanol. The applications for PLA are mainly as thermoformed products such as drink cups, take-away food trays, containers, and planter boxes. Polystyrene and PET are partially replaced with PLA material due to the rigidity. Applications include mulch film, packaging film, bags, and ‘flushable’ hygiene products [38].

Wash the platelets from the packs into large centrifugable containers using PBS. Spin the platelets down at 100 × g and wash them a number of times (at least twice) with PBS until the pellet is completely white. Resuspend the pellets in an equal amount of PBS and transfer the suspension to 50 ml tubes; the addition of 10 μl of 10% sodium azide per milliliter of suspension will inhibit bacterial growth. Platelet suspensions can be kept at 4°C for up to 1 year, but if kept for long periods, the PBS should be changed every 4 weeks.

Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) is a buffer solution commonly used in biological research. The osmolarity and ion concentrations of the solution usually match those of the human body (isotonic), and it is nontoxic to cells. With this, the cost of the procedure can be reduced since there is no need for melanocyte media and there are no concerns of mitogenesis due to the melanocyte medium [22].

Paraffin-embedded slices with 4 µm-thickness were dewaxed with xylene, followed by dehydration with gradient ethanol (100%, 95%, 85%, and 75%). Antigen retrieval was conducted at 115 °C for 6 min under high pressure. Primary antibodies against p-NF-κB p65 (1:100, ab31473, ABcam, Shanghai, China), runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2, 1:100, #12556, CST, Beverly, CA, USA), Osterix (Osx; 1:100, #sc-393060; Santa Cruz, Dallas, TX, USA), and osteocalcin (OC; 1:50, #sc-390877, Santa Cruz) were used to incubate overnight at 4 °C. After incubating with 3′-diaminobenzidine at room temperature for 30–90 s, these samples can be clearly visualized. Additionally, slices were counterstained with hematoxylin for 3–10 min at room temperature. PBS was used as a control of primary antibody.

For validation as a screening method, the binding of QD conjugates to a panel of single-chain Fabs exhibiting high and low colloidal stability27 was evaluated. QD conjugates (1x after preparation) were diluted 20x into 0.1 mL of 0.1x PBSB [0.1x PBS with 1% bovine serum albumin (BSA)] or PBS concentrations with specified ionic strengths spiked with 0.001x mouse anti-Myc antibody (Cell Signaling, 2276S) and incubated at room temperature with a mild shaking for 1 h. PBS (1x) in this work was 11.9 mM phosphate, 137 mM NaCl, and 2.7 mM KCl. The cells were then centrifuged at 2500x g for 4 mins and resuspended in 0.005x goat anti-mouse AF488 (Thermo Fisher, A11001) in 0.1x PBSB. After 10 min of incubation on ice, cells were centrifuged at 2500x g for 4 min and resuspended in 0.2 mL cold 0.1x PBSB for analysis via BioRad Zeti5 flow cytometer. Single-point binding measurements are reported as the median binding signal divided by the median display signal, both of which were gated for antibody expression

Similar processes were applied for the PBS scale, with a KMO of 0.89. Bartlett’s test of sphericity also revealed factorability for EFA, indicated by an χ2 value of 1615.30 (p = .00). Three components (parent–child interaction, reinforcement, and parental directedness) were also extracted with eigenvalues of 6.99, 1.22, and 1.82, which explained 66.86% of the variance. After elimination of one item as its item loading was below 0.40, the final PBS scale contained 14 items as follows: eight items related to parent–child interaction, three items related to reinforcement, and three items related to parental directedness. Acceptable internal reliabilities were noted, indicated by Cronbach’s α values of 0.92 for the overall scale, 0.91 for the parent–child interaction subscale, 0.81 for the reinforcement subscale, and 0.77 for the parental directedness subscale (Table 3).
