First, a 5-F angiographic catheter was placed at the ECA opening. A microcatheter (Echelon®, Covidien, Irvine, USA) was led by a microwire (Transend®, Stryker, Kalamazoo, USA) to reach the trunk of zygomatico-orbital artery, whose branches showed three active bleeding sites (Figure 2a). Four electrolytically detachable coils (Target®, Stryker, Kalamazoo, USA) were inserted, and an almost complete occlusion was achieved. Then, the Onyx-34 (Micro Therapeutics®, Irvine, USA) was injected into the microcatheter until reflex was observed. The angiography confirmed that complete haemostasis was achieved (Figure 2b).
