There are numerous approaches to BSS solution, each based on some generic assumption and conditions. These include methods with a high statistical basis such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) (Pearson, 1901), Independent Component Analysis (ICA) (Hyvärinen & Oja, 2000), Non-negative Matrix Factorisation (NMF) (Lee & Seung, 1999), Sparse Component Analysis(SCA) (Georgiev et al., 2005). etc., to those motivated by the human auditory system such as Computational Auditory Scene Analysis (CASA) (Wang & Brown, 2006).
