Signal analyzer

A signal analyzer is a device, which can be either hardware or software-based, used to analyze electrical signals. It provides significant parameters such as received power, bit error rate, and maximum amplitude. A second type of spectrum analyzer is called a signal analyzer. Such an instrument uses digital signal processing techniques to calculate the spectrum of the input signal as a discrete Fourier transform. The noise bandwidth of these instruments is a constant so that the display exhibits a slope of zero when white noise is the input signal.

On the receiver block, the transmitted signal is received by the photodetector, which converts the optical signal into an appropriate electrical signal. The received electrical signal is further analyzed using a signal analyzer, which in turn provides us with significant parameters like received power, bit error rate, and maximum amplitude.
