Software commonly used for data mining purposes can be either free open-source or proprietary data mining software. Free open-source data mining software offers free online access to data mining tools. These are mainly Carrot2, Chemicalize.org, ELKI, GATE, KNIME, Massive Online Analysis (MOA), MEPX, ML-Flex, MLPACK library, NLTK (Natural Language Toolkit), Open NN, Orange, R, scikit-learn, Torch, UIMA and Weka [45]. Proprietary data mining software levy subscriptions and monetary charges to its customers before handing any rights to access the data mining tools. The examples of such software packages are Angoss Knowledge STUDIO, Clarabridge, KXEN Modeler, LIONsolver, Megaputer Intelligence, Microsoft Analysis Services, Net Owl, Open Text Big Data Analytics, Oracle Data Mining, PSeven, Qlucore Omics Explorer, Rapid Miner, SAS Enterprise Miner, SPSS Modeler, STATISTICA Data Miner, Tanagra and Vertica [46–47].
