Variations in observation frequency in a self-controlled learning environment do not modulate learning of a pirouette en dehors

Participants were tasked with learning the pirouette en dehors which consisted of a clockwise 360-degree rotation on the left leg (Figure 1). An information/feedback sheet was made for the participants which comprised a list of 12 key elements that provided information concerning the movements specific for correct execution of the pirouette en dehors. These 12 elements were created with the help of a dance teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience and who completed the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School. A video camera and tripod were used for video recordings. A Lenovo Ideapad 310-15ISK laptop computer was used to play the skilled model video using Windows Media Player.
