The conceptual data model can be defined as what people think and shall contain all the data necessary to achieve the goals of the system, as well as shall be directly translated into the logical and physical schema of the database (Anwar 2009). The necessity of developing a scientifically based information model of land accounting, the use of which is necessary for solving problems of urban planning and design is justified. The information model will form the basis of the information system necessary to ensure the collection, accumulation and processing of initial data for urban planning analysis, solving scientific problems and justifying practical decisions. Figure 2 presents a model of the land accounting information database, which uses symbols to represent three different types of information. A logical model is a combination of all the data entities and attributes that were entered in the GIS systems. The information model includes a description of how data is stored in the computer and how information is presented, building indexes, alternative resolution, and physical storage objects such as tables and maps.

An information model is a representation of concepts, relationships, constraints, rules, and operations that specify data semantics for a chosen domain of discourse [38]. In the AMI communication infrastructure, it is necessary that an information model, in which all communication participants can semantically reach a certain level of understanding, be maintained.

A Digital Twin is a digital replica of a real-world ‘thing’ (Lu, Liu, Wang, Huang, Xu, 2020). According to (Lu, Liu, Wang, Huang, Xu, 2020), in smart manufacturing a physical ‘thing’ in a factory is connected to the Industrial Internet via standard cyber gateways and abstracted as a Digital Twin in the cyberspace, where Each Digital Twin in the cyberspace is an abstraction of its counterpart in the physical world by reflecting its physical status. According to (Lu, Liu, Wang, Huang, Xu, 2020), a technical core for constructing a Digital Twin is as follows: (i) an information model that abstracts the specifications of a physical object, (ii) a communication mechanism that transfers bi-directional data between a Digital Twin and its physical counterpart, and (iii) a data processing module that can construct the live representation of a physical object.

In software engineering, an information model is a representation of concepts, relationships, constraints, rules, and operations to specify data semantics for a chosen domain of discourse (Lee 1999). Here, the information model(s) provides a common terminology for the application domain of a data analytics project. Compared to data models which have implementation-specific details, information models define concepts and relationships in a higher abstract level, and they are protocol neutral (Pras and Schoenwaelder 2003). In manufacturing domain, for example, the ANSI/ISA-95 (ANSI/ISA 2010) standard is an information model that defines concepts and relationships to support the interfacing between an enterprise's business system and its manufacturing control system. The B2MML (Business To Manufacturing Markup Language) (Mesa International 2013) is an XML-based data model which implements ANSI/ISA-95.
