The concept of social capital is getting popular as a foundation for a set of linkages that represent social networks (Choi 2019; Johnston et al. 2013). The importance of these social networks in online learning cannot be overstated (Bano et al. 2019). Online learning has benefited from the use of information and communication technology (ICT), which has led to widespread acceptance of the technology at all levels of education (Bryant and Bates 2015; Khan 2021c; Raza et al. 2020). Social interaction based on technological advancement is significant from the perspective of social recognition because learners with proactive behaviour have a clear direction to seek adequate aid and inspire themselves to tackle the challenges of online learning (Brouwer et al. 2016; Labuhn, Zimmerman, and Hasselhorn 2010; Lee 2020). Further research is needed to determine whether online learning is as beneficial as traditional physical or classroom-based learning. The academic community agrees that learner behaviour substantially impacts the choice of learning mode, whether online or offline (Komarraju et al. 2011; Li, Liang, and Crant 2010).

The use of dynamic information and communication technology (ICT) at present is one of the things that revitalize the educational process as the students' tendency to use digital technology is higher than their desire to receive educational and training courses and lessons in the traditional way. Nevertheless, these capabilities that facilitate collecting data, converting them into information, and then exporting them into processed data do not provide in detail a description of the extent of their impact on students success, according to all the studies that have been interested in this field (Martins et al., 2019).
