Rendering takes time. How long depends on a number of factors including the length of the edited product, the format, the desired render quality and most importantly, the speed of your computer. Vegas 6 comes with a render farm function that allows you to employ other computers in the rendering process. You may be familiar with computer animated movies that use massive rendering farms. This is the same concept; use multiple machines to shorten the work. This is only a good idea if you intend to produce a lot of long videos.

Pixar has consistently delivered computer-animated content that has a vibrant and realistic image quality. Pixar representatives have explained at conferences how they use many tricks and shortcuts in order to simulate some computationally intensive techniques to deliver something that looks as if it required far more computing power than was actually used.

Computer animated scenes featuring virtual characters are a key element in a number of application fields, from the production of movies and video games to product and service design, education, training, advertising, cultural heritage, etc. (DiLorenzo, 2015; Lin, Igarashi, Mitani, Liao, & He, 2012). Creating 3D animations is a long and expensive process, which requires significant expertise (Chen, Izadi, & Fitzgibbon, 2012). Since these issues are partly due to the significant complexity of interfaces used, a number of research works have focused on the development of new interaction paradigms for easing and speeding up the animation pipeline.
