Editing
Published in Mike Collins, Pro Tools 9, 2012
You can select a region or regions using the Time Grabber tool or you can select a range along a track using the Selector tool. You can also work across multiple tracks. You can then use the Cut command to remove whatever you have selected from the Edit window and put this selection into the Clipboard ready to paste it elsewhere. The Clipboard is a temporary storage area in the computer's random access memory (RAM). You can use the Copy command to copy your selection into the Clipboard ready to paste elsewhere, without removing the original selection from the Edit window. You can use the Paste command to put the contents of the Clipboard into the Edit window at the Edit insertion point, overwriting any material that is already there. If you simply want to remove your selection without putting it into the Clipboard, use the Clear command instead.

Both natural and artificial lighting were time-specific and were simulated in the office scene with baked lighting and real-time lighting systems of Unity. Directional sound sources were placed in the virtual environment to allow for a more immersive/real-life scenario experience. In addition, the physics simulation system was integrated into the VR environment, which enabled gravity and collision events to be simulated, providing a more realistic experience. Users could interact with the VR environment in two ways: (1) through 6DOF head detection so that the users could freely view the 3D office space from a first-person perspective; (2) through using two motion controllers, allowing them to move around in virtual space, and selecting menu functions on a virtual clipboard with a finger pointing gesture.
