Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard for image manipulation (editing graphics and photographs). Even the novice user is easily able to crop pictures, create layers, overlay text, rotate images, modify colors and contrast, convert formats, and brush out unwanted elements of the photograph. For the amateur photograph editor, there are some shareware and free programs available for basic photo editing. In 2008, Adobe Systems launched a free online version of Photoshop called Photoshop Express. This web-based version works with any type of computer and operating system. Adobe also offers a boxed consumer version of Photoshop Express (Fedh, 2008).
