A real-like plastered brick-wall was first simulated using CST-MWS, to study the effect of the five-layered wall on the reflection, absorption, and transmission of EMR. The wall layers (Figure 1(a)) are: brick layer = 25.0 cm, external render layer (cement-based plaster) = 2.0 cm, internal cement-based plaster = 2.0 cm, exterior paint = 0.2 cm, and interior paint = 0.2 cm.
