Two masonry types constitute the structural elements of the bell tower: one in pietraforte stone (sandstone widely used in the Florentine territory) (Coli et al. 2022) for the perimeter walls and one in clay brick for the interior vaulted structures. The stone and bricks, unlike the marble cladding, come from local areas, not far from Florence (Giorgi 2015).
