Triphosphoric acid

Triphosphoric acid is a chemical compound with the molecular formula H5P3O10, which was prepared from an aqueous solution of Na5P3O10 using an ion-exchange resin. It is present in a concentration of 2.55 × 10−2 M and is commonly used in chemical reactions. The obtained solution was then slowly evaporated at room temperature until large prisms of (NH3C6H4COOH)3H2P3O10·3H2O were obtained. The triphosphoric acid, H5P3O10 (2.55 × 10−2 M), used in this reaction was prepared from an aqueous solution of Na5P3O10 (3.21 × 10−2 M) (Aldrich, 99%) passed through an ion-exchange resin “Amberlite IR120” [8]. (NH3C6H4COOH)3H2P3O10·3H2O is stable in normal conditions of temperature and hygrometry.
