Spore-forming microorganisms such as fungi, actinomycetes, or Bacillus spp. may be preserved on sterile filter paper by placing drops of broth containing the spores on sterile filter paper in a Petri dish and drying in a low temperature oven or in a dessicator. Alternatively, sterile filter paper may be soaked in the broth culture of the organism to be dried, placed in a tube, which is then evacuated and sealed. After drying, the filter paper may be placed in sterile screw caps bottles and stored either at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

When the colour of the solution changes from red to yellow, it is the endpoint of the titration. (1) Place wetting filter paper [13] on a specific height above the acid solution, as Figure S1 shown. The area and pore size of the filter paper are 0.025447 m2 and 30 ∼ 50 micrometers, respectively. (2) After exposed to the artificial acid mist for a certain time, the filter paper was removed into a beaker containing 80 mL of deionised water and stirring slightly for 15 min. (3) Take the filter paper out of the beaker and add 0.2 mL 0.1% methyl orange solution into the beaker. (4) Add 0.01 mol/L NaOH solution or 0.1 mol/L of NaOH solution into the conical flask. Record the amount of sodium hydroxide at this time, repeat the above operation three times, and take the average value. Calculation of acid mist amount per unit area as follows: A is the amount of acid mist per unit area, mg/m2. S is the area of the filter paper, m2, VNaOH is The volume of NaOH solution. CNaOH is the concentration of NaOH solution.

WTO obtained from transformers contains impurities. The quality, (that is the properties such as viscosity, flash point) of the transformer oil will decrease if it comes in contact with the moisture. The oil ages rapidly, as moisture is a catalyst for aging. Transformer oil degrades due to metals such as copper and other things like paint and oxygen present in a transformer. The acidity of the oil increases and takes the form of sediments when subjected to high electrical stress. These sediments must be removed before determining the properties for reliable and accurate results. This was done using Whatman filter paper made of cellulose material. One pack contains 100 pre-pleated circular paper filters. Pre-pleated qualitative filters give an improved flow rate and increased loading capacity compared to equivalent flat filters. The diameter of the filter paper was 185 mm, with a thickness of 170 μm and a pore size of 7–12 μm. The basis weight of the filter was 75 g/m2. The oil was filtered at a speed of 55 s/100 mL. This filter is suitable for the filtration of extracts, oils, beer, syrups etc. Figure 1 shows the process of filtration of WTO. These cellulose filters are used in qualitative analytical techniques to determine and identify materials.
Performance characteristics of air intake pleated panel filters for internal combustion engines in a two-stage configuration

Using this formula to predict the service life of a filter requires the availability of many experimental data characterizing a specific filter paper. Filter paper manufacturers usually specify the parameters defining the paper structure: thickness, pore size, basis weight, mechanical strength, pressure drop (permeability), and density.
